I made a joke a month or so ago about being the advance guard for our 'fun' trip -- when the research work and attempts to connect to people would give way to relaxing, exploring, taking photographs, sleeping in. I think the joke also involved taking care of excess insect life, too (check), and figuring out other little in's and out's of Dar and what I could of the rest of Tanzania (half-check). Anything else I said I'd do I am wary of jinxing myself - which has kind of happened twice already - so I'll just keep updating the little victories as they come along.

I guess, now, I just wanted to update here that the travels have begun. It's hard to know what to report first, what stories to tell, but I'll get working on that, too. More to come...
